Segment 1 Introduction to the Automotive Electrical Functions

In this segment students will be introduced to the mobile electronic industry. They will learn about customer relations and the proper steps that should be followed when performing an installation for the first time. We will go over tools required and safety precautions. The instructors will go over different products and brands in class to get the students familiar with pricing and quality of such. Segment 2 Audio & Video Installations

In this segment students will learn how to properly design audio and mobile video systems. They will learn important OEM information that is current with today’s technology and modern vehicles. They will learn about sound theory and how to distinguish between good and bad quality sound by using industry software programs and tools. In addition, extensive troubleshooting topics that the everyday installer encounters will be analyzed. Segment 3 Vehicle Telematics, Security, & Remote Starts

There are two phases in the segment. In the first phase, students will learn about vehicle telematics and how this is applied in the 12 volt industry. Students will learn about internal communication networks that interconnect components inside a vehicle. They will learn about the standards that have been designated to allow devices to communicate with each other within the vehicle. They will learn how information is sent and received via fiber optic cables. Segment 4 MECP Exam Preparation & Resume Building

In this segment students will summarize all of the topics they have learned up to this point to prepare them for the MECP Exam. There will be a midterm and a final to prepare students for the MECP Exam. At this point, students will be ready for the MECP Exam Bronze Level followed by Silver.In addition, students will begin building their resumes and preparing for job interviews. Segment 5 Subwoofer Enclosure Design & Construction

In this segment, students will learn how to pull out the true harmonious sound of a speaker by using simple geometry to design the key elements of a speaker box (sealed, ported, and bandpass boxes). Students will also learn how a simple design can produce a ferocious acoustic impact on almost any vehicle. This is what separates amateurs from professionals. Segment 6 – Fabrication

Here students will learn to use materials such as Fiberglass, Resin, Hardener, Bondo, Liquid Acrylic, Foam, ABS Plastics, Plexi-glass, illumination techniques, wrapping panels, and much more. Segment 7 – Advanced Fabrication

In segment 7, students get a chance to customize their own cars. This is the segment they have been waiting for since the first day of class. Now is the time to shine on your own. Students will combine their installation and fabrication knowledge and create custom projects. They will design and build a speaker box, fiberglass panel, and continue to wrap it. Segment 8 – Window Tinting, Business Management, & Career Placement

This segment also has two phases. In the first phase*, students will learn how to tint automotive windows. They will learn the keys to being a professional automotive window tinter by learning about tools and chemical solutions. Students will learn how to prep a window to apply the film.
